Find Your Joy in Feeling Good

From Simone Biles to Meghan Markle on one end of the spectrum to Robin Williams and Anthony Bourdain on the other…mental health matters. What you choose to do with yours, how you choose to deal with it, can have lasting consequences. I make no judgments and cast no shade on anyone who loses the battle for peace. Nor do I judge those who stay in the trenches despite the damage to their reps. However, I think we can all agree that choosing to take care of your mental well-being should never be deemed as a failure of character or a weakness of will. Finding your joy, feeling good is a life-long journey taken one step a day, one day at a time.

Life is full of good days and not-so-good days. I’ve faced my share of each in my time here on earth.

On the days I feel good, I’ve usually had a great time in prayer, engaged in some form of exercise, and made efforts to get closer to my dream.

Yeah, I felt good. On those days, it was easy to find joy. On those days, it was easy to feel joy. Today, I want to encourage you to find your joy in feeling good.

Find Your Joy – A Letter from Your Joy Coach

Hey JoySpeak,

What are you doing on the days you feel good? Are you exercising, eating right, or hanging with your friends? These days, life is full of not-so-good days. Many people are losing loved ones from the pandemic or its effects. Individuals, young and old, are being swept away by fear of….freaking out, failure, the future.

Never give up on finding your joy.

So, I say, in order to find your joy, find ways to stir up the good inside you. Here are a few suggestions for making your mental well-being finding your joy and feeling good:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Consume healthy foods
  • Talk to people who love you
  • Use your words for good
  • Find a dream and pursue it
  • Serve those in need
  • Serve those not in need
  • Before you fulfill your dream, make sure you have small wins EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

When you lose the thing that keeps you going, remember you can have more than one thing! Find another thing, and another, and then another. Never give up on finding your joy.
